  1. Why should I choose MyWorld?
    MyWorld is Internet access customized just the way you want it:

  2. What do I get for $9.95/month?
    With a MyWorld account, you get the following services:

    1. Dialup (modem) access to the Internet at 56k, via either V.90 or V.92 modem technology, available toll-free from all 6 Hawaiian islands;
    2. One email box (yourname@myworld.net) accessible via:
      1. webmail (webmail.myworld.net) using any current web browser such as Netscape, MS Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Safari, etc.;
      2. IMAP & POP3 (mail.myworld.net) using any standard PC or Mac email program such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, Mail, Entourage, etc.
    3. Comprehensive web-based support via help pages, FAQs, tutorials and quick reference cards;
    4. Optional MyWorld Turbo, revolutionary new acceleration software that speeds up your web browsing and email experience (for an additional monthly fee of $3.95);
    5. Unlimited usage so you can stay online as long as you like.
    6. System wide SPAM and Virus filters

  3. What's MyWorld Turbo?
    MyWorld Turbo is an add-on feature which dramatically speeds up your web browsing and email retrieval. Using the most advanced dialup technologies available today, web sites will load from 4-6 times faster. If you surf a lot of sites with big graphics, they won't slow you down the way they used to -- MyWorld Turbo will handle images as quickly as you want. It's not all about the web, either. If you use your own email client, like Outlook Express or Eudora, you'll see marked improvements in both sending and receiving mail.

    MyWorld Turbo is simple to use. Once you've downloaded and installed the software, you're ready to go. Web sites and email will automatically load faster than they ever have over your existing modem. There's nothing more you need to do. You can take a free trial and try it out for 30 days. If you like it, keep it. After 30 days we'll begin billing you automatically at only $3.95/month plus a one-time $5 setup fee. If you don't like it, simply uninstall it and let us know. We'll cancel the service and you can surf on as you always have.

  4. I have a Macintosh. Can I take advantage of a MyWorld account?
    Sure. Any Mac will work well with the basic MyWorld account, so long as it is a PPC model or better and running MacOS 8.x or newer. Please note that the MyWorld Turbo add-on feature is not yet available for the Mac, but it will be soon.

  5. What if I need assistance and can't find it on your help pages?
    We do have telephone technical assistance available on a pay basis, at a rate of $10.00 per incident. If you have a problem and need our technical staff to help you through it, just call us - click here for the best number for your location. At that time, we will evaluate the nature of the problem as quickly as possible based on your description of the symptoms and advise you of the potential charge. If you agree, our technician will then proceed to assist you in resolving it. Of course, if the problem is caused by something completely beyond your control but within ours, there will be no charge.

  6. How much disk storage space do I have with this account?
    Each myworld account comes with 10 megabytes (mb) of disk storage space on our server for your email. As long as you routinely check your mail and delete old mail periodically, this will be more than enough for most people. If you're in the habit of leaving your mail on our server, then you may have to be a little more diligent about keeping enough free storage to still receive new mail.

  7. Can I get more email boxes?
    Not at this time. We will be adding a low-cost feature like this in the future, so you can just pay for an extra mailbox without the added cost of dialup service you already have.

  8. How can I change my login name?
    Because the login name and email address are so closely related, it is not possible to change your login name without cancelling your current account and setting up a new one.

  9. Can I change my password?
    You can change your password at any time. For now, just call our Customer Service Department at: (808) 792-3301 and it will be changed on the spot. In the future, there will be a web-based Account Management site where you can view your account status, make certain changes and order additional features & products.

  10. How about aliases? Can I get an alias for my login name?
    We're sorry, but mailbox aliases are not available.

  11. Can I have my own web site at myworld.net?
    You MyWorld.net account doesn't come with any personal web hosting service. We may add a new kind of MyWorld Web service in the future, though. If it's something you'd like to see, please contact us and let us know.

  12. Can I get a shell account?
    Telnet access and use of a Unix shell are not included with this type of account.

  13. Is there any spam filtering available?
    Yes, there is system-wide spam filtering which will intercept and delete obvious, blatant junk mail. In the future, you will be able to add a feature with complete control of more advanced, customized spam filters.

  14. Do you scan email messages for viruses?
    We do not scan your messages for viruses, but we do recommend that you take advantage of one of the many commercial virus scanners. We may be adding an optional email virus-scanning service in the near future.

  15. How do I pay for the MyWorld dialup account?
    We accept payment for MyWorld services with the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. You may also use an ATM (debit) card with a Visa or Mastercard logo as a credit card to pay for services. Invoice billing is not available.

  16. Can I pay yearly at a discounted annual rate?
    No, the standard charge is $9.95/mo and there is no discount for advance payment. You may, however, make a payment larger than your current balance and have your monthly fee debited against that amount.

  17. What other charges or fees are there?
    Aside from the initial $10 setup fee there are no extra charges for the basic MyWorld service. MyWorld Turbo is an extra feature which costs $3.95/month if you choose it. In the future we may add other enhancements to the service which could entail additional charges, but only if contact us and sign up for them.
    Note: there is a $10.00 fee if you call in to our Technical Support for additional help. Of course, if the problem lies on our end, you will not be charged for the call.
